I had a slight accident a while back involving a transit van. Basically took the front end of the bike off. I am really keen to fix the bike but dont want to spend money until i know the engine is going to start. The ignition lights light up but the bike wont start. We have checked all the fuses but they seem fine. Plus we checked the battery. There is no damage to the engine so could this be anything to do with the starter motor or anything else?
Help would be good
Thanks

What do you mean 'won't start'? Do you mean the engine doesn't spin at all, or spins over but won't fire?

I'd check the ignition switch and the wires leading to it are OK first of all. Also the starter button itself. They are the most likely things to have been damaged.

Does it have an immobiliser? If not then try and bypass the ignition, there should be a schematic somewhere.

I've found a wiring diagram for the 400 burgman, but it's in German. Attached anyway if it's any help.
