How would I determine which alike items are compatible with a honda part number 31200-KGB-611

Im sure each set of digits means different things, but how would I work out the same items which have been given similar numbers.

The part is a starter from an XL125 2001-2003 and a VT125 2000-2001. Cant see it being all that different from most other honda starter motors for 125's. Any clues on how I would find similar items? I have been searching for days.

Hi

Don't know Hondas parts numbering system, but some companies use systems where each part refers to a different "system" on the bike. Yamahas system uses the model code of the bike it was first used on as the first 3 digits of the part number, and then the same / similar number for a particular part for different models.

All the best

Keith
