As some will know, I've recently had a crash which rendered my Honda CBR 125 a write off.

I have just been paid out somewhere in the region of £1400 for the total loss. I was also given a hire bike that I also crashed. Because of the hire bike damage, I am going to have to pay a maximum of £500 (and it probably will be no less than that) which leaves me with £900 to buy a new bike. My only other alternative to biking at the moment (because of finances) is to buy a travelcard, which will cost me £132 pcm.

The cheapest bike I've seen that has any amount of credibility is the Honda CG125...is it worth getting one of those?

Buy a cheap Honda CG125 and get your test done! £900 is more than enough for a CG (especially now winter is coming) and you'd probably have change for some lessons and something towards your test. I'd really think about doing your test sooner rather than later as it's all changing early next year.
