Don't like football? Can't see what the fuss is about? Want to moan about overpaid handbags and shite TV hogging? Go on, have a good rant fest.

PS. Can all football fans please just STFU?

A game played by cheating, over-payed, over-idolised pre-madonnas.

The players have no respect for referees decisions.

I would love to see a handful of Premier league players on a Rugby Union pitch. I would pay good money for that. Laughing

Rules should be put in place to fine players post game for misconduct if they take a dive. This has been done (I think) in Rugby for violent misconduct that goes un-noticed by the officials at the time.

Some of the replays are just laughable - right upto the highest level (remember the Brazilian player at the corner flag in the last world cup? Laughing )

What I find so difficult to understand is why so many people pay extortionate amounts for tickets to go and watch pretty mediocre football. If your household income is limited (mine certainly is) why would you pay so much to watch a boring game - in the hope it might be a good one this week? A good game of football is great to watch, but happens too seldom these days to warrant the cost of possibly seeing it live. Lets face it a large number of football fans then pay a monthly whack to re-watch these rubbish games again on TV.

.......sorry, I just don't get it anymore Embarassed

Personally, I've had a better time at Twickenham than I ever did at Old Trafford as at least I don't have to worry about my personal safety inside or outside the grounds Rolling Eyes

What's the off-side rule? I don't know, and I don't care.
Football is over-rated boring crap that takes up too much TV time at the expense of far more interesting/important programs.
One of the reasons I very, very rarely watch TV.
It also ceased to be a sport years ago. Today it's just a business. Corporate ball and money manipulation. Thumbs Down

Hi

As a game it was OK for a kick about. Not that I was ever any good at it I did enjoy playing a non serious game.

As a specticle to watch I really cannot be bothered. Holds pretty much zero interest

And as above, and as with almost any sport that becomes overly professional, it has just become a business (F1 has certainly gone that way, Moto GP is well on its way). Supporting one ltd company that plays football to win a league is like getting excited about McDonalds share price because you happen to like a Big Mac.

At least these days there are a decent number of TV channels which don't show it. Having only 4 channels and then have 2 of them show the same bit of bladder kicking at the same time was taking the mickey.

All the best

Keith

The slo-mo montages are the worst, with all the epic music and fancy editing.
You could actually think, "hey this game does look interesting!" But then it all comes back to reality quite soon when you switch over to it and you see nonces in coloured shirts and shorts moving towards the white ball occasionally hearing 'thump'.....'thump'..............'thump'
I know i've just described football in a rather sarcastic way, but trust me, i know how good sport is when you're involved, ive had fun sometimes kicking a ball in a net. But watching it? ha

Shit game to get that 'into' really, when 'you' really arent fu*k all to the game but a pie eating, money waster who likes being in the vicinity of a lot of men.
Why do you need goals in life when you can watch other peoples? I imagine all those players who play for your team really admire you and hope that you come to the next game because Aston Martins aren't cheap to clean.

"Oh oh, but its the epic feeling man, coming together, the atmosphere...bla bla bla"
Might be just how i see it but its a huge VS game....where racist taunts are shouted, objects thrown and the basic concept is city vs city, country vs country.
Want to feel involved, want atmosphere?

I only watch the world cup (England). Even tho we're sh*t. I never liked football when I was a kid. Everyone use to play it. My school just use to do it as PE way too much. Much prefered other things when I was younger like.. shooting for Berkshire.

Give everyone in the crowd air rifles. For the amount they get paid and how much people get ripped off buying their merchandise/tickets etc we should be allowed to shoot at them.

Now this idea I like. Maybe they should have electric shock collars too, that the ref can set off - soon stop them from taking a dive and giving lip.

So it seems that most people hate football primarily because they see them as overpaid.

Well then you are not talking about football per se, you are associating football with all things Premier League. Football in the lower divisions is much better. Both as a spectacle and a good day out. Smile Nothing rivals the banter you get between fans, sometimes it's even better than the match. Laughing

Nope, because it is boring to watch. About as interesting as televised chess.

Sorry, but you have your own thread, football boy. This is purely for whining and hate.

I guess my post does come across that way. HAving said that, for the amount they get paid their shots should at least be on target all the time! Laughing

My biggest gripe is the cheating. The obvious dives and rolling around in agony like someone has just smashed them in the face with brick is pathetic - and they are unfortunately held up as role models for our kids.

Feck me.

I hate football, bleedin' wingey, moaning ponces. Put them all up against Danny Grewcock and his happy-swinging fist *then* see whether they cry or not.

Harrumph.

AND you can't happily drink a pint of Guinness on the terraces of a Premiership football match.
Mmmm Guinness.

Football is boring as hell, I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch it.

What was it Laurence Delalio said about it on Top Gear?

"It's the andrex premiership, because it's soft and unnecessarily expensive."
