Hi folks,

Well my Rossi-rep R6 is gone and there's a big ass 2002 Mille sitting where it once was.

Love the bike, much better for commuting on - easier to swoosh along, more comfy due to being taller (but more weight on the wrist though), generally a bit easier. I find it a lot easier for U-Turns too, the R6 was always tricky to balance at full lock.

Feels pretty 'interactive' to ride; it bucks and reacts to everything during cornering, unlike the R6 which was kind of 'fire and forget'. I bet it'll get a bit scary, but will feel cool.

Unfortunately a stolen SV650 earlier this year means my insurance renewal quote has jumped from £200 on the R6 to £980 Shocked I'm sure I can get it down somehow.

Raising the premium due to a theft-claim should be FVCKING. WELL. ILLEGAL. Mad

^^ I agree, the bastards will always find a way around, ie, they are not officially raising it due to the theft but due to the loss of NCB...

I am at a loss at our insurance system, something that is Legally required, and enforced so heavily by the police (insurance) is provided by a bloody cartel of private companies...

Can someone name me another industry in which the government legally forces you to purchase a "product" from private business?

Insurance is a bit......hit & miss but you probably represent a big risk to them so they will clobber you.

Credit crunch is everyones excuse at the minute as well!

Have you tried Adrian Fux(bike sure)?

I have found them to be ok in the past or hastings direct.

Cool bike the mille Thumbs Up

I'm jealous Sad I wish that silly old sod hadn't knocked me off mine so I could still be riding round on it - they're a dream to ride.

Ahem, I believe it's the NSR125 that is faster than the Mille.

Yeah, the 2001-2003 model is also an uprated version of 98-00 model.

Different frame, engine and slight change to plastics.

I shopped around a load and got a quote for £367 TPO from "QuoteLine Direct" so my original insurers (Yamaha) promptly reduced my renewal to £470.

So they quote me £980 but are happy to drop to £470!

Nice margin if you can get it.

Are you TPO or TPF&T?

I was paying £250 TPFT for my R6, I'm now looking at TPO because of the price hike, I've got two best quotes of £368 and £460 for TPO so far...

That's changing to a Mille and dropping to 1 year NCB.

Mille's are great bikes, Ive had two now and to be honest i will struggle to change them in for anything else when the time comes.

You will have loads of fun on them and with a decent can they sound lovely. Good move Thumbs Up
