well my SV650s has been up FOR SALE for a month now with only 1 question, no viewings or anything. i thought that with the 'credit crunch' i might get a few buyers wanting a low mileage commuter or somthing but not a thing. I know its the higher end of the price range for a curvey SV but its probably got the lowest mileage and most comprehensive service history around!

Oh well i've re-taxed it now (£60), i'll MOT it in Nov (£25) and run it though the winter and sell for £1500 next summer on 10k or something. £350 for near on a years motoring isnt bad - didnt even cost anything to add to the insurance. Thumbs Up

Mate has been trying to flog his SV for a while now, only one serious enquiry so far, which went nowhere, so it's not just you Smile

If I had the money I really would, love those machines!

And if I already had a black SV I'd make a copy of the number plate to replace mine...might wanna remove that pic, or blurr the plate. Been hearing more and more about plate copying

But hopefully easily disproven. More that are disproved the more the whole speed camera scam falls to pieces.

All the best

I only ever blurred one image of my reg plate and that was on my TZR before the V5 had been signed. I really can't be bothered.

It's just people being paranoid. Leave the reg on as someone might want to do a HPI check on it.

as well as the wrong time of year (ish) i think you've missed the
elephant in the room which is the 'real' economy has fallen over a cliff hugely in the last few weeks.

anything which, by and large, requires finance (houses/cars/horses/boats/motorbikes)
is deflating in value. fast.

in the short run we are having a dose of deflation but all the money central banks have pulled out of thin air & lobbed into banks to keep them afloat is bound to leak out eventually and cause massive inflation.

there are massive knockon effects all over the world. e.g. hungary raised interest rates by 3% yesterday to try and defend their currency. argentina are about to, get this, sieze private pension funds. there is serious talk of closing stock exchanges worldwide. Shifty

at the moment, cash is king. lots of people have a stash of cash and silver/gold coins to hand in case 'they' declare a bank holiday for a week or so and close the banks.

buying motorbikes is the least of peoples worries at the moment.

sorry to be a doomster. Sad

As monty said its a case of bigger things happening all around , people who would have bought with cash horde their cash...

People who would have gotten loans can't get loans anymore due to risk...

Such things need bigger leverage to get them to sell , the only one you have is to lower the price.

In that in selling it for £1500 you are making a statement of

"I THINK IT IS WORTH £1500"

Others clearly do not, and therefore wouldn't offer you the £1500, much as anything things are only worth what you'll pay for them, and for items that depreciate like crazy ie vehicles you lose if you don't sell even more......

I sold most of my exercise gear like that it didn't sell at the price I wanted , kept cutting the price , until it did sell....

But man is the economy going down hill the payroll department today produced over 120 P45s, and have ordered 4 more boxes of P45s (for our clients).

On condition or milage alone!

Shocked Confused
