OMG haha i was having to just hang on at times, just decided to take the back roads home rather than the dual carriageway, but that presented new problems, one the roads were up to 2 inch deep in water at points and two the leaves strewn everywhere, got through the back roads tippy toeing practically lol got on the street roads and the gusts nearly blew me off a few times, just my balance kept me on i think, plus gusts blowing me when i was going over paint on the road back wheel sliding.... Fun Fun |

Dont know what sort of bike you have but the bigger the bike the better they handle the wind
I'm just hoping this wind keeps up, shifts all the leaves off the tree's and gets them off the road while they are dry.... Rather than having them stuck to the road... ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

I once rode my S4 through a big puddle, it was hammering it down and there was about a 6" puddle I though I'll slow down to about 25 to go through it the wave I created my hitting hit at that speed sent water up in the air and over my head. I only had jeans on ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

Slight typing mistake. Of course I ment to put all your weight on one foot. So in very strong side winds you almost put all your weight on one foot.
If you can try to move your weight around on the seat to one side as well. |

Luke,
We understand what your saying but really Bazza's explanation is much simpler to explain
In normal circumstances most would understand that when going through a left hand bend for example you would move or pull the handlebars to the left.
What your thinking is that with counter steering your almost turning the bar to the right but it still goes left.
So its more pushing on down on the bar in the direction you want go, as said by Bazza, push left to go left and push right to go right.
What you dont want to do is give people the impression that if they pull the bar to the right at speed it will go left.
So push not pull ____________________ Current - 2007 Suzuki Bandit GSF1250 - 1999 Suzuki TL1000R

During my cbt I was taught several things about riding in stronger winds. Keep a look out for exposed gaps around the roadside such as riding over bridges or fields with no shielding trees and slow down accordingly. I was also shown to lean into the wind slightly and shift my weight over to that one side of the bike.
Hope this helps. ____________________ 98' Honda CG125W --- 03' Yamaha DT50SM (Gone!) --- 05' (55) Suzuki GS500 K5 |
