Heyy

i have a 1993 honda cd 250 in mint condition... ive had a video
of it running on youtube

https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zdOI6FJ3UeM

and someone has commented on it,

"I have exactly the same bike as this, If you drill out the end two baffles (leave the last one in), the bike will be alot louder and sounds like a 600cc bike!"

is this true or will it damage the bike with loss of backpressure?

if not, how do i drill them out!?

thanks Smile

No, it won't sound like a six hundred, it would sound like a 250 with the baffles removed.
It would probably need the mixture resetting if you went ahead and did it anyway.
Easiest way is to buy a different exhaust or sell it and buy a 600cc bike.
If it is mint then the original exhaust would probably be worth selling.

Bingo!

This must have been done to my bike. I have a CD250 too and have always wondered why it's so loud - I thought the stuffing in the silencers had rotted or something. I'm not complaining as it has a wonderful throaty sound and backfires nicely on the killswitch (spitting flames in the process), but perhaps mine has had this treatment? It's certainly much louder than yours in that video.

That said, the midrange carburation is a bit rubbish.
