It was wear somthing pink day at school for breast cancer research.
The kids know I am an easy touch and after being skanked for a fiver by a couple of Y8 girls I pleaded that I had no more cash, not even enough to feed myself over the holidays.
One of the kids said.... " Ok you will be hungry, but at least you cured breast cancer."
Y11 girls nicked all my pink fish badges as well

I was serious, not trying to joke. Noticed you didn't answer my question, though. ____________________ My other bike's a Monster... |

I got set upon earlier by the attendants at a petrol station. Walk in didnt even get to say what pump number and I got "Got any change on you? If so put it in the charity box." I thought this was a fair bit rude, its up to me if I wish to give to charity, not being told to give to charity, so I replied with " I did have, not anymore though, up to me if I wish to give to charity, I dont have to hand out money, So I will pay for the petrol at pump number 4, and im going to spend the 43p I had in change on this 43p chocolate bar!"
I dont refuse to give to charity, I will give to charity when I feel like it, not when someone forces me to, otherwise I tell them to fuck off.
I was in the pub the other day, land lady trying to get me to buy a poppy for the poppy appeal, I declined. I got some banter of them, about how I am not supporting, and siding with the Germans, At which point I told them I was part German....I dont like charities forcing themselves upon me |

Had a falling out with my bosses wife a while back. She was selling raffle tickets. When I asked her what they were for she said they were to repair the gymhall roof at her kids school.
I voiced the oppinion that since it was a fee-paying school she sent her kids to, they have a damned cheek asking the public for money towards its upkeep.
I don't think it helped matters that she saw me later the same day giving someone a donation for a sponsored walk for the air ambulance... ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Anyway. Why should you sponsor someone to do something that is fun and that they will enjoy anyway (eg parachute jump).
I have a lot more respect for someone who does something challenging and difficult.
ProvectusIncurros 24h recusitate-a-thon sounds like a classic. It is something different and difficult. People will be down to a greasy spot by the end of it and will have earned their money.
Or why not make things more interactive. Friend of my Dads does iron-man type triathlons for charity. Instead of getting people to sponsor him, he puts up a bottle of single malt whisky as a prize and sells five minute "slots" of time. If his finishing time falls in your slot, you win the whisky. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. Collections of any kind piss me off. A girl is on leave our place to have a baby, I was asked to put a few quid in the collection tin. I've spoken to the bird about 6 times in 3 years. |
