GSF400 carbs

Hi all,

Have a 1993 GSF400 Bandit, have a carb problem and need to get a replacement set, does anyone have any ideas as to what other bikes these fit on.

Might give me more of a chance of fing a set, or maybe someone on here could point me in the right direction?

Firstly - are you sure you need a new set? What's the problem with them? Have they been cleaned and reassembled properly? Are the inlet rubber and airbox rubbers in good condition?

If you're adament you need replacement carbs then you could have a look at the gixxer 400 carbs, as they share the same engine (although the bandit is detuned). The gixxer carbs may be different because of that, but worth a try?

GSXR400 carbs share the same body design (as do the 750 and 1100) but they have a bigger bore and also taller caps for more slide lift. No doubt they will work but it's likely they would need optimising on a rolling road.

Key faults with the Bum bandit 400 carbs are the o-rings failing around the float valve body (replace with viton ones), perished CV diaphragms and blocked pilot circuits. Mine had to have the carbs ultrasonically cleaned in the end to sort it.

Have you cleaned the tank, fuel filters, and made sure the tank cap breather works? Have you made sure the choke is not stuck/sticking on?

Sitting in my garage is a full bank of blandit 400 carbs from a '90 (only different is yours is VVT i take it?). Currently fitted with a restrictor kit.

In full working order, not the cleanest as you can expect from a set of 18 year old carbs.
