Hey hey,
Motorcycle narked up a bit the other day. As I was riding along the power dropped and then I began to be held back by the engine. When I tried to restart it, the power drained from the battery as the engine tried to tick over and failed pretty miserably. Tried it again the next day and it wouldnt turn over but nearly did, a few days later tried again and it did start. I turned it off again pretty sharp though. I dont want to cause to much more damage if its fixable. In short, I think its siezing and I'm wondering about how much it might cost to repair. Its a Suzuki GN125. Worth a garage trip or cheaper to buy a used newun?
Many thanks.

Oil and petrol at right enough levels. Rear wheel is fine and nah not siezed yet, seizing was my prognosis.
Maybe I wasnt very good at describing the problem, when it fist broke down the engine wouldnt even get one turn over. The battery would put all the power from the everything else into trying, but nothing at all would move. Thats why I think it was seizing, because nowt would move in the engine. It seemed to unseize a bit after a few days, but theres not much point in riding it if i just trash it more is there?

2strokes do this, they nip up sometimes like a heat seize and cool down, as metal expands when hot, and well seizes. if its not starting now, try bumping it, and just ride it till it trashes the piston, as if its already seizeing its already going to have scored the barrell as well most likely.

If it's water cooled then check your coolant level and try using Anti-freeze in it. If it's air coled then make sure there's the right fluid in the system anyway.

If you can bump it off, then use it because whether it breaks now or in a week, it will happen from what you've said.

Hey all, thanks for the thoughts. I took the bike into the garage and apparantly it needs pistons reboring and i think the top bit being replaced. Gonna be about 400 pound. Probably too much to be worth it for a 1998 model.
