Winter care

Hello there.
Now its all cold and wet there is loads of shit on the road as we all know

I was just wondering. Whats the best thing to put on my forks, wheel bearings, and chain to keep them all protected from crap and keep them working good.

I have been using wd40 every sort of 3 rides or so, is this a good idea ??

( not on my chain of course )
What is a good chain lube ?, i have a cheap'o one of ebay ??

WD40 gets lashed on EVERYTHING but the chain. best thing in my opinion is just properly service your bike late october with fresh grease, oils, filters, plugs and coat all metal in a thin film of wd40.

Make sure all exposed nuts and bolts have copper grease on them to aid removal once the salts had a go at them.

At the moment I'm just chucking a bucket of water over the exposed bits of the bike when I get home, and occasionally (say at the weekend) giving it a bit of WD40 and maybe a proper clean if I can be arsed. The bike lives outside, uncovered, so there isn't much point in being too meticulous I reckon.

I wash mine like every time i have been out on it.
Or that just sad ?

Get 1 nice hot engine and exhausts.
Apply liberal coating of WD40.
Start engine and run until it stops smoking.

= Protective layer. Handy for Naked bikes in Winter. It's a bit of a bugger to scrub off in the spring though, needs plenty of Autosol.

Just wondering, is there a problem keep the fuel level low for a few weeks in winter in a garage? Or will the fuel tank start corroding from inside?

wd40, don't wash it till spring, buttrying acf50 now, you can also buy acf 50 at gill's place, thunder road in brum, obvius plug!
