Hi, i'm trying to get my small runaround working properly and am having issues with it in the wet.

It runs fine/perfect in the dry but as soon as there is some rain it cuts out and stutters all over the place. I've changed the coil and wiring loom but it's still doing it.

I'm not an expert and am only making guesses but could it be something to do with the fuel mixture or is it more likely to be water getting into the carb when it's raining?

Thinking about it, if it was the fuel mixture surely it wouldn't run right in the dry?

Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated! Very Happy

Thanks Thumbs Up

I had a bike with water getting in to the carb.
It led to the power reducing by up to 75% when the rain was head wind.
It was water getting in to the carb.
Bike was under warrantee and the garage never managed to fix it.
They tried sealing it with grease and glue I think but it never worked.
The bike was a small Yamaha and I swore I would never buy a Yamaha again and would only buy Honda.

Well i'm having a similar problem so maybe you should consider a Kawasaki Wink Wink

This is usually happening when there is a lot of standing water on the road rather than heavy rainfall, it's so frustrating though because i've just spent about £450 getting the bike through an MOT.

Have you checked the actual HT lead and the the spark plug cap?
My CG used to do this when it had a damaged spark plug cap. Water also used to get in somewhere around there on my TRX - which I worked out when I stuck my gloved hand near the top of the engine while the bike was idling in a rather lumpy fashion in the wet - still got a bit of a jolt despite the not-too-wet gloves.
