Right, I have four weeks off work on full pay, one arm, limited cash available due to loans and I can't drive or ride until the plaster is off in December.

WTF can I do for self entertainment to make the absolute most of this mind boggling opportunity?! Don't bother stating the obvious and primary act of masterbation, kinda got that one nailed already. Wink Cool

Come guys and gals, set me free from the prison that is my circumstances! Laughing

I have done tens of thousands with my thumb in Europe , Africa and Asia but it is a dieing method of transport. Be clean, look alert and do not talk unless spoken to. You will get picked up by the odd nutter that wants to nob you though but most people are cool with hikers. I always give lifts.

Firstly, it's impossible for me to operate the clutch, it's my wrist that's broke, so moving my fingers properly rags!

Secondly, the bike will be gone by sunday. Crying or Very sad

I rode in the 'later stages' with a cast on my left wrist....... Wasn't too comfy but if you're careful then should be ok on private land.

Games console?

Problem is, I am currently in the very early stages, only fractured it on tuesday, it still hurts like hell! The bike is gone on Sunday, if not before. Something I just have to accept I suppose.

Anyhow, wtf can I do with all my spare time? I've got a few books to read, a car and mountain bike to buy, and not much else! I would rather be at home than at work, but I can see the next few weeks being a little bit of a drag........................ Rolling Eyes

When I broke my wrist many years ago, I set up an ebay business to tide me over.
Then I got a bit into it and ended up running it for abotu two years.

My shop was old consoles and games - people sell of lots of about 200 games and a handful of consoles for around £100, I could sell the games at around 2-5 quid each, and make a few pennies on postage.
Was a lot of work for not much return - my hourly rate worked out at around £3-4 per hour, but I had a lot of time to burn.

Find a niche that isn't too exploited, buy in bulk and sell volume.

Try 3 weeks of not being able to open your eyes, Then you'll find out what boring means. Masturbation was'nt an option either as the tablets I was on suppressed any urges I had. Crying or Very sad

I just sat there in the dark and listened to the radio.

Along the lines of what Robby suggested, buy broken electronic items for pence or a quid or two and fix them if you have the knowhow then sell them on ebay. Often just blown capacitors, broken solder joints and the like. Just wear safety goggles or you'll have more problems than a broken wrist...

Carl, im in the exact same position as you, just had another opp to replace the metal plate in my arm today and now have 4 weeks off work.

So far i plan to :
go out and practice my photography,
get on with some art-work i have been working on for a while,
go visit some friends around the country (you can still use trains etc).

In between those i will practice my Japanese, play Fallout 3 and scare myself to death playing dead space.

I'm not sure if you will be able to rent a car, my insurance is not valid whilst i am in plaster. As for a bike, im not able to ride for six months
Crying or Very sad
