Hi

I took delivery of my new (to me anyway) ER-6f on Friday and gave it a thorough coating of ACF50 to help it see through the winter.

However I was quite liberal (aka clumsy) with it and managed to spray some onto the brake discs and quite a lot of excess has dropped down onto the tyres from the surrounding bodywork. I've rubbed what I can off, however I'm now worrying that I've buggered the tyres up and that my front brakes won't work. I hope I am probably over-reacting but what do people think ?

I can't actually ride it as I haven't done my DAS yet.

Stop worrying. You can give your discs a wipe-over with brake cleaner or do the whole lot with hot soapy water but really there's no need to panic. Just ride and brake gently for a few miles and it will soon be worn-away.

Thanks, I was just panicking because all the threads on here which mention it say whatever you do don't get it on your tyres or brakes !

Its not best practice to deliberately spray brakes and tyres but it happens Rolling Eyes Embarassed

You done all you need to and as Geri says just be cautious for a few miles. Maybe worth giving the brakes a gentle test somewhere safe just to be sure of what you got.
