What are the differences between the two? The nc35 looks to have smoother fairings, is there any other changes?

Thanks!

Hi. You might want to consider doing a search as this subject has been covered many times before.

To my knowledge the differences are small but apparent. The RVF / NC35 has USD forks which are good for pub bragging rights as they look like the part. It also has nicer colour schemes (subject to taste) and IIRC a 16.5" wheel diameter as opposed to the VFR / NC30's 17" rims.

Other than that I dont think there's much in it, though the RVF is generally priced considerably more due to the trickery.

I would go with the RVF, but that's because truthfully I'm a bit of a tart! Thumbs Up

IIRC the rear wheel on a RVF went to 17" after the VFR's 18 incher, the fronts were both 17 inch.

I didnt think they made supersports tyres for the road in 16.5". I thought they were for racers only. But then i've been right once tonight, i think i'm pushing my luck, better have a lie down.

The RVF is restricted to 45bhp as standard IIRC too, whereas the VFR makes the full 60bhp... not sure how easy they are to derestrict.

The RVF also has smaller carbs - which produce less overall power than the NC30, but apparently better midrange. Easier to tune as well. The RVF has a slightly different frame, with the engine carried differently (and moulded engine mounts coming off the front of the spas, different swing arm and forks (which have similar internals to late model NC30s, so mostly for tarty reasons). Quality of the machine is still very good, but not on par with its predecessor.

The RVF made 57bhp stock, marginally less than the '30, only other restriction is to 180kph.

From what I was told that's the difference between NC and RC... NC having the black mirrors.

The VFR makes more power but not that much really as the RVF has smaller carbs. Cheaper to sort out the suspension on the VFR than the engine on the RVF so I've heard...

It's mostly looks and the rear wheel being different sizes. Much easier having a 17" rear wheel but that can be transferred from the NC350 to the NC30 so not much of a biggy if you don't mind spending a bit of money (and makes tyre choices much much easier.)

I think the NC35 looks nicer although I ride an NC30. Love it to bits (but not quite as much as my Hornet Razz)

Well, I'm sorry.
I did write a very informative and possibly usefull comparison and post out there for you.
But then my fucking INTERNET EXPLORER decided to crash when I was trying to add this > Penny Coin Penny Coin <Smillie... This is the reason I don't post anymore,
becuase of this absoloutly withering excuse for an internet browser.

Instead of wasting any more energy or taking this post any further out of context I'm going to tell you YOU WANT AN RVF Thumbs Up #

Can anyone recomend a good browser? Embarassed

I think the gearbox is slightly closer ratio on the RVF too, and the front calipers are the updated 4 pots as used on the Fireblade/CBR600 rather than the older NC30 ones. Generally speaking the NC30 is believed to be a better bike in most respects, but if you want looks and better resale get the RVF. I've never heard of there being a 45bhp restriction on the RVF, only the easily bypassed 180kph speedo restriction that is present on all grey imports.

Pah, NC30 is prettier... nicer eyes and back side doesn't look as big with the long legs big wheel.

Are you sure on a closer ratio gearbox Phoenix? The NC30 gear box is pretty close ratio for a 400; I thought the RVF was a bit more 'normal'.

Nope VFR gearbox is closer ratio... i've had both engines in my rvf. How is the VFR believed to be the better bike? considering the RVF is an updated VFR?

When you're writing a post of any length, try ctrl+A then ctrl+C occasionally. Then when it invariably fucks up, you can just paste your progress. Thumbs Up

Yep, Vfr has close ratio gearbox with taller first gear. RVF's is more evenly spaced out

Granted, my NC35 does have a wobbly bottom, but my bottom makes up for that Wink

Besides, at least my rear end had never been held together exclusively with gaffa tape and cable ties . . . lol
