I was unaware they existed. No one seems to talk about/ purchase these on here. Has anyone ridden one? what are they like in comparison to the other 400's?

The reason I ask is because my cousin is looking for a bike to replace his old RS125.

They are like an underpowered SV650, same handling as its just a sleeved down 650 motor. Changing the front end to a twin disc setup is worth doing though.

In comparison to a sports 400 its a totally different ride, more upright and relaxed.

Was made for the Jap market when their license laws restricted new riders to 400cc motors.

The big japanese manufacturers still make 400cc bikes, im suprised we dont get any imported in by any dealers/importers, especially as most of them make 33bhp or less.

Thanks for the help so far, so it would be better for him to get a 400 like mine rather than that then?

Other than the GSR 400 they all look more like commuters to be totally honest. Maybe that's why they aren't imported here? What happened to the GSXR 400, FZR 400, CBR 400 etc... Sad

Where do you get your figures from?

Isn't it only the Honda Bros 400 that puts out 33hp, most 400s put out way more.

250 4 strokes will take off soon. No doubt we'll have the R250, GSXR250 and CBR250.

Bit strange its a single disc

He best off just getting a sv650 probably going to be about the same price and there will be more spares for them, although i guess 90% of its interchangable.

The licensign laws in Japan changed so they no longer have 400's as the easy option.

I cant imagine what it must be like if its like an under powered SV650. The 650 I had was slower than fred flinstones car with one foot in plaster cast Laughing
