I'd pay that for an equally immaculate and tidy original RG500 or RD500, but not for an NS400R to be honest. Although in my mind the NS was the overall best GP500 replica, it never sold that well and the engine parts situation has become really difficult. It would be hard to keep one on the road for 30k+ and thus i don't think they are worth £3k because of this. If you see a comparable RD500YPVS with a similar low mileage for that money, then id definately consider it.

Yes they were by far the best handling bike of the GP replica 2strokes, but they were also about 20bhp down and 15mph down on the RG or YPVS.

The problem for me is that i've always wanted an RD500 at some point, ( i love the sound of them!), but being a Yamaha 2stroke with all the heritage and cult following they attract, they will always be priced pie in the sky for a decent example, despite how good or bad they are to ride and how well they handle etc. I doubt you'd see a YPVS500 in that kind of condition for less than £4-5k, and you can buy alot of new or nearly new excellent bikes for that.

I once saw someone selling a excellent "condition" NS400R it had 12k miles on it I think and they wanted £700 for it. Everytime I hear about the ns400's I always kick my self.
