Only noticed it the other day when out and thought it was me, but I'm thinking maybe not?

The bike almost stalled when pulling away from a set of lights. As I was coming to a stop to pull away almost straight away again I suspected maybe I was in 2nd rather than 1st.

Next set of lights, same thing. The bike judders away a little as if it needs more revs.

Next set of lights (yes I have loads on the way to work) I purposefully gave more revs and it seemed better.

Maybe me then?

From cold in the morning no problems just jump on the bike and away I go. When the bike is a little hotter it seems to be more prominent, and tonight a few stop starts suggested that its not me 100%.

Could this be a worn clutch plate, iffy clutch fluid (as worse when hot) or something else?

May also explain why the bike seems not to pull as hard and as high in 1st?

All other gears seem to be fine.

Any tips or quick tests to work out whether clutch or gear box is the issue?

if the clutch was a problem it would either be hard to change gear or it will slip in most gears.
i cant see it being the gearbox from your explanation.

the only bit i can pick up on is the bit where you say if you "give it more revs its fine"
therefore i think your problem is at low revs because as you are going through the gears your revs wont be that low in 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc.

it sounds like it is running a bit weak between no throttle and half throttle.
but as you say its ok when cold then it points to a bit rich between them throttle openings.

is the bike standard?

From the dyno run the fuelling is good.

In the light of day I could try and alter the clutch lever position, maybe its something simple that I'm missing, or maybe it is me????
