That level of awareness is commonplace in the UK. Hence why we are in such a state now. It's a fact that millions of people voted for Labour in '97 because of Blair's smile and the promise of that old nugget, Change.

During the last local election here in North Wales, a voter told me she wanted to vote for Tony Blair.
He'd obviously been out of office for some time and she didn't know Broon was now in charge of Labour. [tongue in cheek]
When I told her "this is a local election, not a general election" her eyes glazed over, one could almost sense her brainwaves drop to an all time low of 'trace'.
