I just came back to Plymouth from Cornwall, what should of been 40 miles journey one way was 70miles as those fuckers closed down half of the A38 without putting the fucking redirection routes so i had to go to petrol station and buy the map!

And all of this was on a Honda NSR125, my ass was hurting really bad after 30miles but after 40miles i forgot about the pain in the ass as i was fucking freezing, i started to shake after 50miles for further 20miles.

So yeah, sold my 125, kawasaki ZX6R here i come!

It's when you stop shaking that you're in real trouble. Laughing

How soon before you get the 6R?

You couldn't find your way home without a map? You only need the vaguest of local geographical knowledge to manage that, surely?

Never, ever buy a map from a petrol station. Just thumb through them and get an idea of the next 10+ miles of your journey and stop at the next garage. Thumbs Up Quite often get lost on rideouts and end up 'borrowing' one of their maps to get my bearings. If you do get stares and feel especially guilty then buy a chocolate bar...the mark-up on those should be considered payment in full anyway. Very Happy

There is a fabulous invention called road signs and they have the name of places on and also the direction they are in some of the more fangled ones even say how many miles away the place is! What will they think of next. Shocked

Town centre petrol stations are useless.

I once stopped off at a little petrol station in the middle of nowhere. Looked like it'd not changed since the 70's. The old couple that ran it were really helpful. Wrote down loads of directiosn taking little side roads. I managed to get back on track, and save some mileage!

Pfft, don't leave the A46 and all is good!

The A38 becomes quite a scummy road anywhere past Bath! You'll love a 600 after a 125.

Thing is, after loving my Honda NSR for 2 years i started to hate it when using A roads a lot, seat was quite hard as well as i had to keep it on 8k revs in 4th gear to go anywhere.

If i pass my full test next Thursday i'll ring 3 guys about their bikes, 2 ZX6Rs and 1 Ducati Monster 600 and see who will offer me the best deal Cool
