Bike making strange popping sound in, or near fuel tank!

I have a 2005 Suzuki sv650 s. It has recently been serviced by a Suzuki dealer and was running fine.
My bike now, and has been for a few weeks, making a strange popping sound, which seems to be coming from the fuel tank. It's like a blockage and sometimes cuts out when it pops. My bike also runs like cr*p when the engine warms up (usually to about 75 deg). Have taken to a mechanic and obviously, he couldnt find anything wrong with it.
I have ran out of fuel twice because at about 100 miles. Weird cos its done nearly 180 miles to the tank before.
This is driving me nuts and wanna figure this out for myself (with your help, obviously)
Could it be a blocked line or a faulty spark plug?

Could be a kinked breather or a blocked line or something. Get the dealer to have a look, it was working fine when you dropped it off, so it's something they've done.

Also post stuff like this in workshop next time, this section is for issues related to the forum itsself.
