What are the options for a bike suitable for my little lad? He's 8 years old, but a pretty tall 8 year old. His inside leg is 24" (61cm).

Any decent alternatives to the PW80? Budget up to about 400 quid, but no Chinese crap.

Not helpful but just wanted to mention that I wish my dad bought me a bike when I was young, lucky young fellla you got there!! Wink

On a more serious note the bike of choice for those under the legal age and without the experience to safely ride it is a FZ750 with someone elses number plate on it apparently.

Thumbs Up Laughing

R6 with stabilisers'll be fine, then once he's had a few hours on it you can whip em off and not have to waste money on getting another one once he grows out of it.

Bish bash bosh.

Yamaha rt100, my dads pal had one for his kids, It was a great little field bike they are smaller than an mx 85 but still not realy small, although it was meant for his 7 year old, it was still capable of pulling his 14 and 15 year old round,

He had it for a couple of years and it was used pretty much every afternoon in the summer months without a hicup (bar a couple of flat tyres and a levers etc) certainly not the fastest thing in the world but it is a "real" bike with clutch and manual gears that is good to learn the basics on.

I bought my daughter a py50 when she was 5, we've had no trouble with it at all and she's 9 now so we are gonna sell it and get her a py80 unless we find something like this when we're looking.
