the drive chain on my nsr was very loose so i adjusted it making sure to keep both sides equal. no matter what i do though there's a strong vibration from the back end. i changed the worn chain and sprockets in the hope to remove it but it's actually worse. anything i may have missed? i checked the allignment of the back wheel but no matter how much fiddling i do it doesn't get better. this is my commuting bike so i don't want anything to go wrong. cheers. j

first off are front and rear sprocket's all running true ??

when you replaced them did you clean the groove on the back wheel where the sprocket sit's ??

did you put all your wheel spacer's and washer's back on the rear wheel bolt in the order they came off ??

are you using the guides on the swing arm to align your wheel these can sometimes be out by a few mil,

is chain tensioned correctly,

Wheel bearings, sprocket carrier bearings, cush rubbers not sat in right or missing.
Maybe even swinging arm bearings.

Are you running a tight spot on the chain? Wheel off the ground and turn it around a few times and make sure it does not go slack/tight.

cheers for the responces. i'll check the chain but since it's the same as when i had the knackerd old one on i doubt it'll be that. i'm thinking bearing as the previous owner only used it for about 300 miles in the past 3 years. it was well maintained and serviced but i think i'll check the rear bearing. any suggestions how to remove it? can i regrease it or is a new bearing job? cheers.
