Hey folks -- I have an opportunity to buy a new/used Shoei RF-1000 for $285 (154 Pounds, me thinks). It is used as far as the dude tried it on and realized he needed an X-Large, so it hasn't been ridden in.
Is it a decent deal or should I pass?
I've already tried on a Lg RF-1000 at the local bike shop but the $699.99 price made me ill.

Id be a tad suspicious of a helmet listed as used.... you never know whether he's dropped it, fallen of a shelf.... used it as a dog food bowl... etc

True enough... I asked the seller to email me some picts and it looks very new. No marks or scratches, like the seller said, he bought it online but didn't want a helmet that "crushed (his) cheeks." Hell, the plastic protector sheet has never been removed from the visor.
I'm going 4 the purchase... wish me luck!

Just arrived in the post. Turns out buddy didn't call it mint in the ad because he had tossed the original box. Shit it still had that new helmet smell.
Are the Picotte replica Shoei RF-1000's for sale in the UK, seeing how Pascal is a Canuck like me, albeit a Quebequois?
