Just a Question about my TZR 250 3MA

Hi guys, I'm a bit dumb when comes to the mechanical side of the bike. What i would like to know is if I will be able to start the engine without a battery? I'm finally completing the engine this weekend and would like to start it up and see if it's going to run or explode in my face

Any advice would really be appreciated. Thanks

It's best to have a dud battery in there than non at all just help regulate the current.

I've started my 2MA a couple of times, the only problem I have is at tickover my rev counter doesn't work. I put this down to it having a dud battery though.

Thanks for the reply, I'll see if I can find an old battery somewhere. This is one of my first project bikes and I don't want to break the engine after it's first start. The parts are damn expensive here where I live.

you will be able to start the engine no problem, but.. and correct me if im wrong.. when you leave the enging running with no battery, it tends to break the stator or alternator

or so im told....

It'll run but it'll put serious stress on the charging coils. Get a battery.
