I’m planning on popping up to Sweden this summer to stay with family on Gotland so don’t want to take too long on route up, but equally want to avoid sitting on motorways the whole way. Plan is to head via the Nurburgring on way up, so the route I’m thinking of is London – Nurburgring, then ‘ring up to Copenhagen via Hamburg / ferry across to Denmark. Thereafter across the bridge to Malmo and up to Gotland.
It’s about 1k miles so planning to spend 3 days riding to not over do it. It’s a journey with a destination rather than a tour, before I get flamed for being over ambitious on the mileage / day.
Anyone have any experience of this route and can suggest places to see / avoid, roads to take? Ideally I’d like fast & undulating empty dual carriageways...! But assuming will be some motorways and the odd twisty if I can find them.
Also, anyone have any experience of Danish & Swedish police and their view on *making progress*? I’m guessing they’re not overly keen on it, but may not be a militant as the Norwegians?
TIA! |
