Right, so I've had my NSR for a couple of months now, pretty confidant on it.

desided to see what it would do top end, as I tend to stick to 70 on DCW and dont really speed.

Im pretty sure that its restricted as its got the standard exhaust(with no cut and weld marks to show its had the restriction taken out) not sure about the carb intake but the main stealership I bought it from told me it was restricted. (learner legal)

But I do know one thing, it is in exsellent condition, mecanically perfect. starts first time on the button, never let me down on the 1000+miles I have done already. (and have been told by the blokes down Hein gerike "its a minter, bloody good buy")

so I got it up to a bit above 90, prolly 95. (not for long, just got it up there then slowed down, dont want to blow it up)

now I dont really know whats what with speeds of bikes, just ride em, but is that good, or is that good for de-restricted??

dont really know what sort of speeds it will do restriced/derestriced.

So, anyone know if thats normal for a restricted or normal for a derestriced one?

Your bike is derestricted m8.
I have a nsr derestricted and had 95
I think restricted would do 65/70

Everytime I read a post about acceleration, top speed, racing against another similar bike or something along those lines, it's always someone with a 125. Face it, your bike is slow, and no one cares how many mph above 90 you can get on the clocks.

And before you attack me for attempting to belittle your vehicle's capabilties, I ride a 125.

That would be about the true top speed of a derestricted one (might indicate a bit more). Restricted it would manage 70~75, and indicate 75~80 (on level ground).

So your bike is almost certainly derestricted. No need to cut and weld the NSR pipe to derestrict it.

All the best

Rolling Eyes

jees, what bugs got up your ass, I was mearly trying to find out if the speed it does means its restricted or derestricted.

Im not the type like supersports to be like, ah yeah I've got 100 out of my restricted 125.

cos that would never happern.

Rolling Eyes

tbh, Im not the sort to sit revving the balls out of it while on my drive or just sitting somewere, "coz it sounds good innit".

people like that shouldnt be allowed bikes cos they only ruin them.

Smile

all the best though

I did actually have an indicated 105mph on the clocks on my NSR.

Call me a liar if you want but 'tis true. Me and a mate had near identical fully derestricted NSRs and mine was marginally quicker for no apparent reason.

Anyway, OP. It sounds like your bike is derestricted. Whether it's fully derestricted, or just the carb washer removed is up for debate. why not take a look at NSR125.com and check your bike over?
