When I went to look at my Polo, the passenger side electric window wasn't working.

I asked the guy to sort it out before I came to pick it up, which he did (apparently he put a new motor in), and it worked fine for a few days, until this morning, when it's doing the same thing again.

When I press the button I can hear the revs drop, so I think the motor is OK as it's pulling power from the alternator. All I can think of is that the window is stuck (it was frosty this morning, but after pouring hot water over the window it still won't open).

Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

Grease the runners lightly and the pivots inside the door and check nothing is causing it to stick. The motor had probably burnt out from keeping the finger pressed down hoping the window will move down before.

Never pour hot water onto glass as if its the screen it may crack and the side tempered glass will shatter due to the temperature shock. Use only warm water.

A friend of mine said his window wasn't working but the motor was still working fine. He said about a solenoid? which was replaced and everything went back to normal.
