One of the worst rideouts ever...

Well, on Thursday Joe, Boobs and I thought a jolly fun ride would be in order as the weather was so nice down here.
We meet at Joe's, had a fag whilst getting ready, then decided to roll out towards Rye.
As we were on our way towards Battle, Joe's bike totally died. Took the seat off to look at the fuse's and saw it had blown the main fuse. Whacked the spare one in and it fired up straight away. 20 yards down the road and it happened again.
Fucked now. We were in the middle of nowhere about 5 miles away from the nearest shop that would have fuses.

Get on the phone to Martyn who has a trailer to come pick us up.
Nothing but a long arse road forwards and back

There wasn't even a shop nearby we could get a drink from. This is all there was.

Got another fuse in the bike, found what looked to be the wire that was shorting out and moved it. Fired up and ran fine so Joe decided to ride home and we'd stick in front of Martyn in case it should die again. Fortunately it didn't.

Now on the way home, not to be outdone, my bike decided it would have its own hissy.
about a minute away from Martyn's I felt a big clunk through the bike. I thought it was a stone or something and had probably left a big chip in the paint.
Joe pulled alongside me turning into Martyn's road and told me I'd got a nail in my tyre.
Got to Martyn's and was met with this

Quite annoying but the rear was coming towards the end of it's life and immensely fortunately, Joe had a Pirelli Diablo in his garage from his old bike he said I could have.

Was pretty much a brand new tyre.

Here's a plug for the shop I used (Phoenix Motorcycles in Bexhill).
Went to the shop today and asked how much it would cost for them to do. Had the wheel loose and the tyre, the guy said they'd do it for a fiver.
Literally did it there and then, took about 5-10 minutes. Fantastic service there.

Now to my negligence we hadn't noted how the rear brake was mounted on to the swingarm and missed a slot that holds it in place. Rolled the bike forward which moved the caliper and severed the hose. Shit.

Back to the bike shop and told them what happened, the guy pulled out a Goodridge braided hose from a kit and said to take it to try fitting as it was slightly longer than it should have been.
Went on fine, went back to the shop to pay and the guy wanted £15 for it. Absolute bargain.
So massive credit to Phoenix who're incredibly good retailers.
