Just for the lulz, like.

So where to get my chosen shade? Searched google but can't find anybody that sells lots and lots of different shades of paint. Halfrauds just sell the usual dayglo-pink shit which is ghastly and costs about £9000 a can too.

Don't really wanna go to the pros as I'll have to remortgage my ass again to pay for it. I'm sure I'm capable of priming, sanding and finishing this job on my own.

cheers deers.

xx

Most motor factors / car paint suppliers will mix up to match any swatch you give them. They can put it into rattle cans for a whole lot less than Halfrauds!

If candy, going to need
Basecoat, usually a coarse silver if i remember,
Colour, the actual pigment the pink with the pearl mixed in.
Topcoat, the laquer for the shine.

Thats the only aerosol pearl pink i can find,
how does that tickle your fancy?

erm... planning on having a paler, matte pink rather than some gharish in your face color.

something like this? Although I'd have to try out a few swatches first.

I'm assuming there is nothing wrong with the panels on the rvf400 (prettiest of the 400s), so it seems a shame for them to be lost to the world.

Any chance you could sell them to someone, and buy some tatty ones that you can then tart up with the pink stuff ?

I know its your bike, but there arent many original rvf400s around anymore, and they are worth quite a bit.

Sprayed pink i think its going to be fewer peoples cup of tea, when you come to sell it on.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately the 18-year-old kid I bought it off managed to stack it (more than once) and every panel was smashed, broken and battered beyond repair. He'd also taken to doing some home 'repairs.' The engine and electrics were a mess, rims bent, discs warped, fork internals wrecked, etc. According to the lady I bought it off he later went on to buy a Gixxer750 on finance and wrote that off about a week later.

So I'm going to go down the tyga route but with a twist. It's not going to be another chavvy RC211-looky with the stupid slanty headlights.

Thumbs Up

Why do you want a pink bike? To show your manliness (like the pink shirt thing)? Are you bisexual? Just have no taste? Wink

Halfords are shit, and you get a can made up, then go back a week later to get another made up, and they dont ever seem to match up..
UPOL is the way to go!

Only someone with no sense of style would ride a pink bike, which rules out most gays. Would be a valid statement for bisexuals though Wink

That stunter Kane "insane" Friessen had a pinked up B1H and that looked stunning.

You could obviously go on some porn sites, have a mosey about looking at spread eagles and clitori, print em off, take em to halfords and say... i want THAT shade of pink Wink.

Luminous pink will do nicely (none for that nissan micra pink). I'm sure there's some online paint swatches you can get which simply means all a body shop needs to do is mix in the right quantities? They can make any colour they want.
