How do you do it?

I put the 650 away finally after giving it a good spray with the pressure washer, the polished it aboutr 4x then autosol on the exhaust and forks the lubed it al up,, then reversed it in to the garage and put it under the bench all locked up and out of the way.

I left my NSR under a tree, one year later it just about managed to roll down the garden into someones van.

So er my technique is obviously not quite right yet.

How long will it be stood? I guess the obvious thing is to disconnect the battery but there's a few other bits and bobs to know as well. I'm no expert but it's maybe worth draining the fuel from the carbs as it can go off and you should also not leave it on a side stand for months as you can flat spot the tyres. Other things to worry about might be rust in the fuel tank and seizing brake calipers etc. but I'm sure someone will be along with some better advice than me shortly
