After my lights blowing in the fog the other night... I realised how stupid it is that the hornet uses mini fuses.. as not many places sell them!

Does anyone know if there's a fusebox off another honda or something that uses conventional car fuses and will slot on to the existing clip? If there is I'd love to replace it with one.

Cheers!

Yeah it's a bit of a pain isn't it. Halfords sell the fuses...

You could get another fuse box but it'd be a bit of a mission. Best off getting one from another bike - from a breakers or something.

What I did with my Civic (same fuses) is goto a scrappy to get something (windscreen wiper motor in this case) and fill your pockets with as many free fuses as you can - works a treat. I've not ran out and it's been about 3 years Wink.

Hold on you ride a hornet which uses the same mini fuses as my CBR , I've been able to get them at petrol stations , and any motorfactors infact at my local motorfactors mini fuses are 12p each while the bigger blade fuses are 16p each.

But thinking about it , it will be a pain , since you'll have about 8 things to solder into it...

They're not as widely available though surely... car type fuses you can get from ANY garage. Not bothered about the soldering.

Why the hell would you want to go to all the trouble of replacing a fuse box just because one fuse popped? If you are worried about fuses popping just go out and spend a couple of quid on a compliment of spare fuses and keep them handy.

Don't make unneccesary work for yourself. Besides, you should probably look for the cause of the problem. May be a bad seal on the headlight unit or the bulb holder cover.

Hi

Just stock up.

Ebay Link

£9 including postage for 100. Found cheaper, but not with the smaller ampage one.

All the best

Keith

I've always been able to find the fuses at petrol stations.

I also know of many cars that use mini fuses.

The reason I wanted to do this was because I thought mini fuses weren't going to be as widely available. As you have all said they pretty much are.. I'll stick to this fuse box. I guess i'll just keep a small case of them under the seat.

I think the headlights blew because a 10amp fuse is fitted... same as when I had a single headlight... except I now have twin headlights (i.e 2 bulbs).

Cheers everyone Thumbs Up

Edit: Cheers Keith, never thought of ebay! Just ordered 100 assorted 5,10,15,20,25,30 amp for £5.25! sweet!
