I guess it will have to have a shop look at it, to decided if it will be worth repairing it.

If the frame is dented/ bent, on an NSR I would say write off. Forks bent, and cosmetic shouldn't be a problem.

Well it goes to local honda dealer tomorrow - just to see if it's worth repairing, but the guy from the AA who picked it up reckoned it'll be a write off.

Yeah, I really need to be getting on with the compo but sadly I only really woke up yesterday and sadly it was a sunday and unfortunately nobody is open today either coz of the Bank Holiday. Apart from listing my injuries, does anybody have any advice on what to do next. The police haven't taken a statement, just my insurance details over the phone and my insurance company haven't contacted me. I guess I have to wait until tomorrow before I do anything. The pain is especially bad today but finger looks like it is healing really well!!!! Sweet!! I have a huge spikey lump on my collar bone though, as for the knee, well, at least I can stand today!

get lots of pictures of all the hurty bits everyday, and get pics of the damage of the bike with a proper camera.

the reason you take pictures of the hurty bits every day is so that you definately have the pic when it looks worse.

as for the rest of it.. well someone else will do a big post about it.

The frames on these modern bikes bend easily, and if the forks are bent it indicates a pretty hefty crash. They will probably assume the frame is bent and write it off.

At least your sort of ok, as for the bike if the frame is still straight but they write it off see if you can buy the bike back off of the insurance company. If you can buy some renthal MX handlebars, remove the rest of the fairing and put a light on the front from a CG125 and hey presto you are on your first steps to having a streetfighter.........Next you need to look into nitrous etc

as for motorbike king, well done, you come on a bike forum with loads of regulars shout off your mouth like a twat on your first and hopefully only worthless post, I am really sure a lot of us are gonna take any notice of your future messages.

Sprocket mate, if you think compo will be quick then I think you’re mistaken. You have to wait till all your hospital appointments are over, I thought mine were as I had my last knee scan last week) but they said they want to see me over other matters in 4 months. The solicitors reckon I shouldn’t claim till after then, in case they find something out or something deteriorates. Reckon my cartilage is still a little fucked and I may need an op just "other" things which concern me more! If your injuries heal quickly then you should be able to start claiming in a couple of months.
As for claiming for you bike: was it def not your fault? if so and the insurance company know they have to pay up to half in 2 months and the full whack within 2 months of receiving the letter off the police confirming this unless its your fault and they will take the money away!
The police should post you a witness statement and u fill it in and send it back, they then have 4 months to make a report (and in my case took 3 months and 20-odd days!). Advice: no-win no fee companies are **ok** never go with a solicitor that is with an insurance company as they do deals and you’ll end up with less. Find an independent company. I went with no-win no-fee and they gave me a solicitor, the difference is that the solicitor isn’t taking anything either as my step dad builds fixes or repairs their systems so I collect 100%. Sorry if it’s a little long winded!
