i hear that an de-restricted nsr will do it in about 6-7 secs, but what will a vfr400 do it in? is it easy once i pass my test to go and get an nsr and fully de-restrict it...i mean do places FULLY de-restrict the bike. i hear there are more than one restrictions on the bike...so by default do they just remove the one in the exhaust and tell you it is de-restricted? or do i have to specify

Just do it your self (Or get some on on here to help Confused) All you need is some drill bits (Inlcuding a few 2mm ones danny Razz ) and a few sockets/spanners.

If it's a UK model then theres one in the zorst and one in the engine intake from the carb.

VFR is probably around 4-5 secs, once you get used to the bike.

If your gonna derestrict it, do it yourself. Easy to do, or find someone on here to help you. Theres one in the zorst and one in the carb (if you get a UK bike). Don't get an import, much harder to derestrict.
Check out:
https://www.nsr125.com
to get a derestriction guide.

why the fuck would you want to go pass your test THEN buy an NSR?

Respect for wanting to get on with the test when so many people seem to want to run derestricted bikes on L plates, but to go to all that trouble then buy a 125 ... nah mate when you pass get a VFR400 they are ace little bikes, great fun

Or you could do your test and get a cheap (not shiny looking though) 250, naked 400 or something, ride that for a bit then sell it at pretty much no loss once you're a bit more confident nad get a sports bike.

£300 on test - depends if you pass first time, experience etc
£700 on insurence - depends on any ncb age etc
£500 on gear - depends on quality
rest on bike - can get vfr400 for as little as £1500

Hi

Honda VFR = £1800
Helmet = £150
Gloves = £20
jacket = £80
Jeans = £80
boots =£80
Insurance =£900 or deposite £200 then roughly £70 quid a months
Test = £500 intensive course

I make that £1910, Very Happy. Of course the clothing is bottom line stuff, not the best but still good. That honda VFR cost is how much i paid for mine, mine ok no problems few slight scuffs but you cant notcie them, (its the same bike in the avatar too)
