ok when i turn 17 i can do my restricted access test, i understand that. Can some one tell me whats the maximum size bike i can have, i know it has to be 33BHP or less....but what bikes do these cover in terms of CC, i have been looking at a VFR400 or a CBR 400, is it just the case of buyin any bike you want, regardless of CC but the term is you must have it restricted to 33BHP until i turn 19?? Sad

What are CBR 400's like by the way are they decent...i want to look at as many bikes as possible for my first Rolling Eyes so can you shed some light on what sports bikes i can look at for my restriction?

You can have any cc bike as long as it is restricted (I think Confused ) You should have no problems restricting a 400. As for the license you must be restricted to 33bhp until you have had your full licence for 2 years, then you can ride any cc, or until your 21. Have a look here for more details https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=16185

Although I was 26 when I passed my restricted test I looked at getting a GSX750F restricted but it would have cost about £700 to have done, but the main thing that put me off the idea was that if i got in a race from the lights with a moped, because of the weight to power ratio I would have probably lost.

What are these restrictors that you all speak of? Confused Laughing Razz

And it shouldn't cost more than £200 for a restrictor kit for any bike Wink
