How warm do heated grips get?

Did some poking about on the bike to see why the heated grips don't work. Turns out it was just a blown fuse. So i connect them up and run the bike for about 10minutes..
I duno if its just me, but they don't seem that warm?not near luke warm either. I'm not sure if maybe the grips are old and probably don't heat up well enough or not.
they only do half the job, as the wire that goes into the rubber area on the left grip came out (not sure how i'll solder this together again).
These are honda heated grips, not oxford ones.

Maybe I should just get some oxford heated ones instead? would they be warmer, or is there not much difference between the two.

Don't know what make mine are but they have 2 heat settings and i normally only ever need them on the low heat as its plenty warm enough.

How hot do they feel? Hot enough without making your hands sweat although fingertips still feel a bit nippy as they are more exposed.

I've got Oxford grips on mine and they have 4 heat settings, I can't use the 100% though as it gets too hot to hold after a while!! And that's with winter gloves on...

I have the oxofrd hot hands ones and they get lovely and warm, plus i can move them between my bikes depending which one im riding.

On my bike, the right bar gets a lot hotter than the left. I presume it's because the left hand one is directly onto the metal bar, and the right is onto the plastic throttle.

My standard BMW ones on the high setting are too hot, I just use that to get them up to temp then lob them on low.

mine did something like that when they were on their way out of action. I replaced the control unit (oxford) and they were back to how they supposed to be.

Think the new unit cost me a tenner...

Maybe I should buy some oxford ones. I switched on the heated grips today during my 1hour ride. I couldn't feel a thing through my gloves, and I have summer gloves!

As the above posts, heated grips on a high setting should be too hot to hold. Even through gloves I struggle to keep hold of mine on the third setting of four.

Sounds like yours are knackered. I picked mine up off eBay for £15.

money's tight at the moment. I'll wait till the start of jan and buy some....
.. but I duno, I don't like the idea of having them permanently on my handle bars?

I fyou dont want them on permanent then search for oxford hot hands rther than hot grips, these velcro over existing grips securely and are nice and warm and easy to remove or change between bikes.

As we sell them, I yet to own it. But I feel peoples hot grips all the time
Some are ok, others are quite hot. I get alot of people telling me tho, that once the fingers leave to change gear the whole hand gets cold?
Im looking to get the wrap around ones soon tho.

I have the official Honda heated grips. On the highest setting, doing 6krpm down the motorway they get hot enough to vaporise rain off your gloves

mine can get uncomfortably hot, though i don't ride in the current weather conditions so ambient temperature may help.

its the fingers that suffer
