just a thought, do bike shops and the like have january sales, or anything like it? or is there a time of year manufacturers bring out new kit (helmets, mainly) and last years colours are sold off cheaper? after my first decent helmet (up to £300 ish) and didnt want to buy one next week, only to see it £70 cheaper in Jan or Feb

most dealers will have deals on helmets throughout winter to clear room for next years models..

we have quite a few on sale and decent ones too .

check your local hein gericke to see what they have..

if you're looking for a really decent one like an arai or a shoei, go and buy one now, due to the £'s being weak against the Us$ and the japanese Yen, they're all going up in the new year, but due to the fact they can't put them up the 25% that the £ has fallen by, they are putting them up 10-15% and squeezing the dealers margin for the rest so there will be little chance of a discount either!
