So i run a Drum and bass event. People use facebook, so i make events on facebook. Im guessing 95% of you know this, the rest of you might say something like "Don't have time for facebook"
Yeah and that's my point. Don't tell me or anyone else you don't use it. Fuck off

It probably takes me 20 minutes or more to create it, the purpose of this is to get people invited and they read it and click 'yes/no'. Why the hell would you bother posting on the wall for the event, shite like this...?

"Im in london...sorry!"

"Sorry guys, im over the pond right now. lol"

"I would but im in wales all week"

Makes it even more infuritating when i don't even know these people, it's not like im expecting them anyway! Mad Middle Finger

Yeah chill out! I think I answered one of two of them that I have gotten wondering why I was invited anyway since I am not in the same country. I just hit ignore now though as I get so many. But as Tonka said they probably only trying to be polite.

See, I have the opposite problem.

I added this bloke cos I play Mob Wars and I'm supposing he does too (or has at some point) ... but now he keeps sending me some annoying flyers to some event I wouldn't even want to go to even if I DID know him, sounds like some Nigerian dance party (or even possibly something *devotional* ...) and worse: its in Catford, urgh, where I would NEVER go unless I absolutely HAD to.

I'm not interested enough to go and post on his wall, but it doesn't annoy me QUITE enough to delete him - and besides which he probably plays the same games as me, so I'm stuck with him sending me out boring crap to me that I am really not interested in. But then, I suppose that's part of the downside of social networking. People probably get annoyed with me sending them fluffy applications when all they wanted was extra members in their Mob Wars.

But then ... I've also seen some events that I WOULD be more interested in (although those are mostly as a result of reading through friends' profiles, rather than looking at event-lists ... so it has a both-sides-of-the coin sort of effect.

I've only done that to three people, and two of them were Chinese and one was a Turk (seems a bit pointless accepting applications in a foreign language, for all one knows it might say "Kill all fat chicks over 45" )

I don't like blocking stuff. I've got a small app out there and I hate it when I go to check the stats to see how many people have refused it LOL ... if it says someone had blocked it, I think I would cry Laughing

Killa... It's the RSVP request you get when you say yes/no.

I often apologise (If it's local though Confused )

I don't use facebook because it is a waste of valuable time I could have spent posting unwanted replies on a thread where I know it will cause genuine rage to a real person.

Put it this way, if you were invited to a close friends birthday party you'd either;

click yes and go 'looking forward to it' on the wall

click maybe and go 'will try and see if I can get off work' etc on the wall

click no and maybe explain.

So if you scale it up, it's obvious people just want to let you know they would be interested if they could make it.

I still get invites to lots of things from Uni, and because I'm not a retard I don't add 'not at uni anymore'. But I do feel like it, as validation for my missing out Crying or Very sad

I dunno "who" you are.
I searched under Tarmac+Surfer but I couldn't find you ... Razz

I bet you're there hiding under the side bar that says "Perhaps you know these people, cos all your mates have added them... i had Skida glaring out at me for WEEKS, and I was thinking "I know that face ... I bloody know who that is ..." but I wasn't bold enough to send a friend request Rolling Eyes

And then there's the other lot, that think just because you share friends you should be added.... And then after a message asking 'Do I know you?' STILL keep requesting. Laughing

Facebook - Gotta love it.

Would be overkill if over 300 people did this as standard.
Its the few who feel the need to explain what the better option is. A simple, click of 'not attending' is all anyone needs.
