well I have my car practical test coming up pretty sharpish and I'm worried that I'll fail it... again!

I know that I can drive, I get every manoeuver first time without any faults and no complaints on my general driving... but every time I think about the test I just feel as though I will cock it up and I just imagine the worst.

Anybody got any ideas on how to get rid of these thoughts? lol.

My driving instructor got all his students to take "kalms" a few weeks before the test... they are sold everywhere.. just go to tescos and they'll have them. meant to relax you, you take about 2 every few hours or something but you have to use them for a few weeks for best results.

I'm a very nervous person but they really do work for me and i did pass my car test first time Smile

I passed mine on the 5th attempt (although one doesn't count as I was rudely and wrongly arrested and didn't get there), in the end I had the attitude that if I cocked it up then I'd do it again until I got it right. The guy's not looking for you to drive perfectly he just wants to see that your safe and know what going on around you while your on the road. Don't dwell on it to much and don't give up if you think you've made a mistake(they can't see everything), when I took my bike test I had the same attitude and pissed it even though I'd gone the wrong way and had the radio die a few times. Very Happy

Get talking to him and it'll help ease the atmosphere and make you less likely to do silly things from over concentrating, which is possible, the more you try to focus and worry the more likely you are to forget something or make a poor judgement.

Or just be happy that it's only about £100 to retake it, it's £350 to retake an LGV test each time you fail inc vehicle hire etc, trying to relax when you know how much it costs really is difficult.

lol i tryed to do that but i got a proper self righteous know it all examiner (when i say know it all, i don't mean about the driving).

Passed though and it did work even if all i was thinking about was how much of a self righteous know it all he was Laughing

Thanks for all the help, guys!

I think trying to talk to him would probably help, hopefully it won't be a self righteous examiner as Nick says.

I have heard of Kalms, I may give those ago... my friend uses them.

Thumbs Up
