I am typing this with one hand following my accident on the bike...at around 4.10pm I was gingerly filtering up the North Circular going Northbound when a driver in a BMW X5 decided that he'd had enough of the traffic jam and turned in the road...I was going no more then 4mph - but couldn't stop as I was just by his rear door - my bike connected with his car and down I went. Somehow I dislocated my left thumb - but as the bike went down - I did manage to minimise the impact - so only a minor scratch and a very slighlt bent brake pedal. I did pull a few muscles in my ribs & left arm too and my left side mirror was ripped off.

I called the police and the guy was very apologetic abd apologised...so whilst the damage to the bike is minimal - I can feel that my uninsured losses wil be high!!

Sad sorry to here that, dislocated thumbs hurt like hell the next day.
At least the bike damage was minimal. Did he admit responsibility.?

www.sorrymate.com are worth a look IMO.

I've noticed more and more accidents recently. This year seems to be worse for inpatient drivers and lunatic last-second manouvres.
