i'm doing an oil change tomorrow on my xj600n 97 model and have a few questions.
first being, is 10w40 the correct oil i should get and also should this be semi synthetic oil or what kind?

also, having never owned a 4t bike(have always had 2t), how much oil is my bike likely to need?

and is there anything else i should look out for or need to know.

cheers
matt

I use cheapy 10w/40 in the Divvy. £16.59 for 4 litres of Putoline DX4. It's synthetic fortified mineral oil. Not semi or fully but just fortified heh. It does the job and I haven't had any problems. I also use Hiflo oil filters which cost £5.99. Don't forget to change your sump plug copper washer.

Just over 2 ltr is the required amount.
As quoted on the engine just above the filler hole Wink

Make sure you are on level ground when filling. Sight glass is a nightmare.

I use anything for semi syn which is in now to the cheap £4.99 for 5 Ltr supermarket stuff.

I would also check the air box while you are at it to make sure its clean in there.
