If your discs are prone to rusting.. then whatever you do - first spot of moisture and they will rust some more. So whats the choice? wear them out with wire wool and 'sandpaper' or wear them out by riding the thing and using the brakes.

do both and wear them out in double quick time - then get stainless discs.

Sooner or later opinions fade and the name on the tank matters not. I think that happens somewhere between 3rd and 4th gear. Enjoy the ride... everything else takes care of itself.

Sttelwool was my initial reaction as well, only the stuff I have is lightly lubrcated and I don't like any lubrication getting near my brake disc...

Then it shouldn't rust unless the disc is warped or someone has put cast discs on it. The pads will rub any surface rust off.

What bike is it?
