And I got you the best present of all

A big list of free fractal generating programs, where to download and how to use them

I'll be giving em a go to (got to kill time somehow).

Oh and a nice mandelbrot set.

Now enjoy stimulating birthday fractal fun Thumbs Up

Thanks guys Smile
Had a great day off work.
Got a nice set of thermals for the winter riding. (note to the younger forum members - this is was you have to look forward to ... getting excited over thermal underwear)

Managed to work on the bike too.
Well - that was when I wasnt on the PC and playing with fractals (damn you Bonny and your interweb skills - I got lost for about 2 hrs playing with all things fractile)

Created the set below - not as pretty and symmetrical as monsour. Mandelbrot ... but its all mine Smile

I've always wanted to know how they work.
I saw one running YEARS ago (blimey, Anita was probably about 4 or 5 at the time ...) and I was fascinated - never got round to investigating them programs any further.

What did you use in the end? I had a faily good play on Fractint Dos (enough to discern that changing the video settings is a must to stop it looking like its being shown on a gameboy) and all I could do was fuck with other peoples fractals.

So is your pick a bastardisation or did you somehow find a mode to create your own paramaters?

I got lost in the links too Smile
I think I used Fractal Explorer - but also used something like Brazil.
To be honest I just ended up using about 10 different apps, and then when I found something that made sense, I just started clicking Smile

and I am still doing that - until I find one that I can work easily and works on my machine Thumbs Up
