If I remember rightly, it's something to do with the YPVS (Yamaha PowerValve System) But I have NO experience whatsoever with powervalves...
Only other things I can think of are intake restrictions (Air filter, Carb, Manifold) or rev limit on the CDI, I wouldnt have thought the exhaust system would be restricted... But I could be wrong...

i think the TZR used the same engine as the DT and TDR 125.

Try googling "derestrict DT 125" and "derestrict TDR 125" and you should get some good hits.

From memory, powervalve and exhaust usually restrict those bikes. A fully working Powervalve with a servo motor will make the most difference - you can hear it make the whirring sound when you turn the key. You can peg them open but you lose low down power. There may be a restrictor cone in the exhaust - removing that will help as well.

Please answer the question about which model it is.
Photos and other appropriate details would be useful Thumbs Up.

In one model you took the powervalve out and rotated it 180 degrees.
