Hi,

My GSX is going for it's MOT on the 2nd Jan and before I take it, I need to align the headlight as I replaced it when removing half faring.

I know the best way is to park infront of a wall. Does anyone have the measurements so I can get the best DIY alignment I can.

Also, I used exhaust paste on where the 4 downpipes go to 1 as welding it is rather tricky and nowhere would do it. It still blows slightly due to it's design and finding a new one is impossible. Marshall Deeptone system.

Also my bike is a 1985 B reg (March) and has no front brake light switch fitted. Will I need to fit one or will I get away with it? This is due to most of the parts coming from a 1983 A reg.

MOT is at Castle Honda in Castleford as that's the only place I could get.

Thanks.

Stephen.

Hi Stephen,

Your bike is pre 1986 so you will only need one brake light switch.

If your exhaust has a small blow it should be ok, but if it is a large blow and making excesive noise compaired to a standard exhaust sound it can be a fail,

It also depends on where you take it some garages are sticter than others, best ask other bikers for the best places to go. I don't know what it is like down your way but a lot of the main dealers are a bit strict.

With the headlight a good MOT person will align it for you before you start the test.

Good Luck, Ken Thumbs Up

Cheers for that. The link is very useful.

The exhaust doesn't sound unusually loud. Infact it's quieter now compared to what it used to be like.

Hopefully it should pass.
