hi I have just bought an AP50 scooter, does about 35-38 mph. Can anyone give some cheap tips on uping the speed a bit. Im not a kid (lol) well a 44yrs old kid, just wanna go a bit quicker in traffic as I normally ride KTM super moto's. This little scooter is saving me a fortune £20 insurance £15 tax and £3.50 a fortnight., just fed up with little whizz bpys buzzing me lol
Cheers guys Embarassed

You wont really get much more out of it, maybe a few mph.

Get a performance pipe for it. Brought my scooter from 38mph - 50mph, big difference. You'll need rollers for it aswell.

I've still got my exhaust for it but I'll need to dig it out and check its condition if you can't find anything.

Worth remembering it started life as a moped restricted to 30mph. Anything more is a bonus, start down the heavy tuning route and it will become more unreliable than it already is.

Better route would be a 125, then you wouldn't need to thrash the living daylights out of it to keep up with the flow of traffic.

I agree dont want to beef up the little chap just want wanna flow a bit, I got a range of KTM's from 125-250 and 640 supermoto among others but I do like this little thing its just a play thing, and its very reliable on the button first time every time. Its funky and fun.

If it's purely for traffic get yourself an oldish Sh 125. They are amazing bikes, NEVER break down even if you try, not too slow (60 mph) and very good in traffic.
My friend has one and I can say there is not a soul in barcelona who can beat him in traffic. Doesn't matter what bike you have a scooter is traffic king.
