Posted: 19:27 - 26 Dec 2008 Post subject: Where to go for a new ER5 front sprocket nut? |
 |
|
Hey, when trying to change my sprockets the other day I discovered the front sprocket nut to be stuck fast, we tried every solution to get it to move but it wouldn't go so we had to grind most of it off to get it to come away. Unfortunately this means that it is damaged beyond use and so I need a new one.
Problem is I can't work out where to go to find one, I contacted wemoto but they said no, I tried a couple of sellers on ebayer who were breaking ER5's but no joy there either.
From what I can work out its got a 19mm thread and it uses a 26mm socket but that hasn't given me any help with my googling. So anyone got any ideas where I can get a new nut either officially or just a nut to that size?
Thank You. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

according to this page it's a 20mm nut which should be far easier to get hold of as its a standard size
is used on a variety of other kawazaki's too so a breakers should have one..
https://www.cmsnl.com/products/nut-20mm_920151963/
there is a list of other bikes it is used on there

I could kiss you yandy, using that part number I found a place that can get me one in the next couple of days (giving room for royal mail). So I'm happy now .
And yeah finglonga I would have but my nearest one is Bristol, and I can't get back to Bristol till I have my bike on the road, I suppose I could have called them but I didn't think they'd be open at the moment.
Cheers guys . ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.
