Mate's got a CBR the same as me and this one has got me a bit stumped so I'll pass it on here.
He was riding along and suddenly felt a knocking sound coming from the front. Thinking it might be a puncture, he stopped. No, tyre is fine.
Then he noticed as he was riding along that one of the calipers was moving back and forth on its sliders. If you apply the brakes it stops vibrating and works, he didn't notice any change in braking effectiveness or pulsing of the lever.
The rotor looks fine, checked the run-out, it certainly doesn't look warped. The only thing I did notice is that it might have been close to its thickness limit. Then I stripped the caliper, made sure the pistons were working, checked the pads, gave the whole lot a good clean and then put it all back together again. Went for a test ride and it worked fine.
75 miles later and it's doing it again.
What gives?
