Hi,
Does anyone have ANY idea where the german NSRs could be restricted from?
We took apart a m8's bike last night but the intake restrictor plate was not there, he bought it in almost mint condition from a guy who lives in Germany so we're assuming that's where it's from...
ps. sry for another one of them 'NSR' posts ____________________ Woof! |

As far as im aware restricted in the CDi unit, well this was the case for our little 01 import.
As ours was the same no restrictions in place in the exhaust or intake housing.
Replaced the unit with a UK Spec unit and we now get 95mph from the little blighter.
The CDi unit is located just under the air intake under the air box housing.
I managed to get a Uk spec unit from www.breakingpoint.co.uk for £60.
Hope this helps. |

Just an update, don't take my word for it.
A friend has just got hold of a NSR (import), we tried the same by temp plugging in a uk spec CDi unit and made no difference what so ever.
The restrition must be hidden else where. |

I asked the same question from the german NSR forum (www.nsr125.de) and this is the reply I got:
| Trader wrote: | HI , you must first unscrew your exhaust and then you must saw up it on this place . here in the puicture its coloured. But you may not saw it up completly
Here you can see the throttle and must sand off it.
And later you must weld your exhaust .
Here you can see a guide with all the picture.
https://www.nsr125.de/bilder/kruemmerdrossel/drossel1.jpg
But we must know how fast the machine can drive, but when you can only drive 80 km / h , then there is an other throttle . AN electric Blackblox this is a littel box and there come 4 cable out. One is green, the other is red and one is blue and the other one is black. Then you must connect the blue and the black cable which comes from the nsr.
I hope to help you . |
It seems that the wiring Kickstart mentioned may really be the case... ____________________ Woof! |

Looking at those photos, it like another way of removing the same restrictor as UK bikes have in the exhaust. You need to take the exhaust off, and see if it looks like the restrictor details on www.nsr125.com in the workshop section.
Cutting your exhaust in half is quite extreme! |
